Abolish the Death Penalty in Kentucky

Posted on Wednesday, February 24, 2016
The Catholic Conference of Kentucky needs your help to abolish the death penalty in KY.

The House Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing (likely on March 9) to discuss Rep. David Floyd’s bill to abolish the death penalty in Kentucky: HB203. This is a BIG DEAL. It is the first time since 1976 that a bill to abolish the death penalty is being given a hearing and a vote during a legislative session.

We need 10 votes in the committee to move HB 203 to the floor of the House for a full debate and vote. Your help is needed to secure these 10 votes.

Helping is easy. Call one of these toll free numbers, 1.800.372.7181 or Espanol: 1.866.840-2835, which are answered by live operators from early morning until 11pm Monday through Thursday and until 5 pm on Fridays.

Ask the operator to deliver the following message to ALL members of the HOUSE JUDICIARY committee:

I am calling to urge you to vote YES in committee for HB 203 which will repeal the death penalty. I support repeal of the death penalty because -----AND THEN GIVE A BRIEF REASON WHY YOU SUPPORT REPEAL. I thank you for giving my thoughts consideration.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to Faithful Citizenship!
