Foster Parents Needed for Temporary Care of Infants

Catholic Charities Diocese of Covington are in need of couples to be become foster parents for temporary care of infants. 

Specific Duties

  • Provide temporary 24 hour care for infants while birth parents decide on a permanent plan for the child.
  • Provide a home, love, and food, medical care and accept the infant as a member of the family.

Eligibility Requirements for Foster Parents:

1. Residency: You must reside in the Diocese of Covington, Kentucky for one year prior to application.

2. Marriage:   You must be married at least three consecutive years to the same person prior to application. Both husband and wife are expected to wholeheartedly participate in and support each other in their roles as foster parents.

3. Income: You must demonstrate financial security and stability.  Foster parents receive $22/day to cover all expenses from the day the baby enters the home until the day the baby is removed.  Foster parents may receive free formula through the WIC program at the foster parent’s respective county health department for the baby’s formula.

4. Health: You must be in good health and physically able to reliably attend to the care of children. You must demonstrate emotional stability.

5. Limitations of Care:  You must agree to temporarily foster babies in your home.  Foster children are not eligible for adoption in your home.

Times for Service

  • 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for a temporary period of time. 

Training

  • Orientation to the Agency and the position.
  • Foster Care training and preparation
