Socks Needed for Parish Kitchen

Posted on Friday, October 10, 2014

Do you have a sock drawer at home? The homeless don’t!

So wouldn’t holding a sock drive be a great way to help provide this basic need for the homeless in Northern Kentucky?

This is where YOU can help. By conducting a sock drive with your friends, family, neighbors, school, business, civic or church group, this can be an effective (and fun!) grass roots means of raising homelessness awareness and fulfilling a practical and unmet need of homeless men, women and children.

New socks, only, please. Not used – even gently. We do not have laundry facilities to wash donations of pre-owned socks. The ideal socks are white cotton crew socks, over the calf, with a reinforced heel and toe…a pack of socks is even better!

The homeless are constantly walking, do not get to bathe regularly, nor do they have laundry facilities readily available to them to wash their clothes. Socks are a critical article of clothing for the homeless and we need your help!

Socks can be delivered to 2 convenient locations:
Parish Kitchen, Pike and Russell Streets in Covington
7 am -11am M-F
8 am - 11 am Sat-Sun

Catholic Charities, 3629 Church St., Latonia
9 am - 5:00 pm M-F
