Mental Health Counselor

The Diocese of Covington, Catholic Charities, is seeking to hire a counselor for our Mental Health Programs. The position is 40 hours per week with some evening hours. 

Overall Purpose: Performs all the duties of a Licensed Counselor for our general counseling practice serving individuals and families.

 Educational and Experiential Criteria:

·         Licensed LPCC or LCSW, Master's degree level clinician  

·         Experience with diverse populations, including children, adults, couples, and families. 

·         Experience with DSM 5.

·         Ability to perform all the therapist's duties and work independently with administrative oversight. 

·         Strong desire to advance the cause of human services at Catholic Charities and the community, including advocacy, teaching, and participation in planning processes.

·         Three or more years of experience preferred.

·         Roman Catholic Preferred

 Counselor Responsibilities:

·         Outpatient screening, assessment, diagnosis, therapy, and case management for children, families, and adults, including facilitating groups as appropriate.

·         Maintain the best practices in counseling through consultation and supervision provided by Catholic Charities and other available resources.

·         Keep all records current and comply with the quality assurance program and accreditation standards.

·         May require delivery of services off-site at collaborating community agencies or schools.

·         Assist with functions that further Catholic Charities' mission, including public speaking at special events, radio, video, and community coalitions.

·         Attend Individual supervision weekly with the clinical supervisor and team meetings as scheduled. Comply with supervision and continuing education requirements per licensing board. 

·         Assist clients in complying with our policies and procedures, including but not limited to the payment of fees.
