Jail Ministry

The Jail Ministry Program at Catholic Charities plans and coordinates efforts to best meet the needs of people who are incarcerated with an emphasis on justice and mercy for everyone. In fulfilling this purpose, staff works in partnership with agencies, correctional facilities, businesses and  volunteers to develop and support appropriate programs for those who are now incarcerated in the jails within our diocese, those who are reentering our communities upon release from jails and prisons, the families of those who are incarcerated and those who are victims of crime. Our concern is for the material, emotional and spiritual needs of all concerned. To this end we are also concerned about the effects of crime and punishment in our society and advocate for justice in these areas, promoting responsibility, rehabilitation, and restoration.
