We at Catholic Charities firmly believe in the power of prayer. We rely upon the prayers of our staff, our clients, and our benefactors to ask for God's guidance and assistance as we work to reveal His purposes and his love for us here on earth.
Prayer links us together. Although many of you, our benefactors, will never see the work we do firsthand, your prayers are with us as we build strong families, feed the hungry, and treat the emotionally burdened and mentally ill. Please keep in your intentions: Catholic Charities, our staff and volunteers, our supporters, our clients, and the people in need whom we have not yet reached. Thank you for joining our vital network of spiritual support
The Catholic Charities Prayer
Oh Lord, our God, source of all love, we come in the name of your son, Jesus, to ask your blessing on Catholic Charities. Open wide our hearts to those who urgently need a helping hand and tender care.
Send your Holy Spirit to guide and direct our efforts to respond to those in need, work to improve social conditions for all your people, and call others in our community to do the same. Help us become fully catholic through sharing our gifts with each other and with all who are hindered by poverty or isolation.
May we do your work with charity, the gift of healing love, which reaches beyond daily needs to touch our hearts.
We praise you and bless gracious God, for your many gifts to us and for the blessings we receive. May we share them generously with our brothers and sisters. Hear our prayer in the name of Jesus, Who is Christ the Lord.
Amen.
Submit a Prayer Request
Prayer is the practice of the presence of God. It is the place where pride is abandoned, hope is lifted, and supplication is made. Prayer is the place of admitting our need, of adopting humility, and claiming dependence upon God. Prayer is the needful practice of the Christian. Prayer is the exercise of faith and hope. Prayer is the privilege of touching the heart of the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
James 4:8
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Phil. 4:6-7
God, in your mercy, hear our prayers.
