Job Title: Parish Kitchen Manager

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Covington is seeking a full time Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Parish Kitchen, supervise the employees and facilitate the work of over 200 volunteers. This position is full time, (generally 5 days M-F from 7:00 am-2:00 pm but some evening or weekend coverage will be necessary).

The Manager assures that that the core values of dignity, respect, hospitality, affection and attention permeate every aspect of the operation of Parish Kitchen. A major role of the Manager is to articulate the faith-based mission of the Parish Kitchen to the public, service organizations and educational institutions. Candidates should be familiar with the cultural aspects of poverty and the basic teachings of the Catholic Church regarding the preferential option for the poor. The successful candidate will also have experience in meal planning, maintaining a facility serving over 200 meals a day, inventory management, vendor relationships and the maintenance of the highest level of health standards.

Educational and Experiential Criteria:

  • Bachelors in a human service field or Associate Degree and 2 years experience
  • Awareness of poverty, addiction and mental health issues
  • Ability to work with the poor and homeless
  • Ability to lift 35-50 pounds
  • Orientation, training, assignment, appreciation and retention of volunteers
  • Experience in food service and health department standards would be especially desirable

Salary range is $37,000 – $47,000. Salary is based on education and related experience.
